Class Description

Learn the medicinal and botanical characteristics of the plants growing here. We will discuss ways to gather and prepare them as medicine, clinical uses, as well as just appreciating their place in the ecosystem.

About the Teacher

7Song has been interested in plants for a long time (though not nearly as long as his interest in reptiles and amphibians). He went to his first herb school in 1981 (the oddly named Platonic Academy of Herbal Studies in Santa Cruz, CA) and has been diligently studying the medicinal and botanical aspects of plants ever since. He started the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine in 1994 and has been a clinic herbalist at the Ithaca Free Clinic for 17 years. He appreciates all the support he had been given over these many years.
